Vine from slovenia in Hamburg-Rissen - A History

In May 2017 between the raindrops we planted vine from slovenia on our large balcony and our orchard beside our appletrees.
We used small stakes because we can`t knowed if the vine will grow because it`s vine from the south of europe.
Our vine yard is small but is a right place with rich in nutrients, safed from wind and real sunny (if it`s schining).
The same on the balcony where started grow two plants from the oldest vine from Maribor (Solvenia).
The vine in the orchard growed well. We let growed select plants, like thistles, between the vine to protect them from sun and dryout. And it works. Our Orchard vine growing well.
Our plants on balcony growed well at first but after summer in the ground was builded ammonuim chloride which kill the oldest vine. Some people sitted in some of the vine plants so they lost it`s shoots and it`s life.
At our orchard the terms and conditions are so well that our vine is growing fine.
In september 2017 the students are changed the small stakes into right posts. On this way the vine will get anough space to grow.
We found the first bunch of grapes at our vine plant.
In November the studenst from Maribor visited Hamburg and helped work at our orchard and schow how to care the vine from slovenia.
They helped and showed us how to cut the grapes.
In march 2018 our students cleaned up the bed of vine and by teh beginning of april we can see the first small buds at our vine. It`s vive!
Now, by the beginning of May we see the bigger buds from vine. We have actually temperatures by 11 degree at day and 5 to 7 degree by night, but it grow.
In last april we planted two new branch from the oldest vine from Maribor and we hope that it will also growing well than the other one.
We wish the vine a wonderful life!
It`s schow us taht the climate change will made thinks easier and possible. Since decades it`s growed vine at "Stintfang" by the Landungsbrücken in Hamburg but now it`s possible beside a big town with different temperatures like Hamburg-Rissen.
In last week we had holiday. But if looked at our orchard we had still spring and all plants grow.
Also our vine show it and it`s bigger leafs.
In background you can see that the wild flowers grow. But next week we will clean up the bed.
